List of Southeastern Conference National Championships - Totals By School

Totals By School

The following table ranks the current SEC schools by the number of NCAA recognized national championships each school has won. This does not include Division I-A/FBS football championships, equestrian championships, or unofficial championships in other sports such as men's basketball. However, it does include AIAW titles, which the NCAA has retroactively recognized as equivalent to its own national championships. Please note that some championships may have been won before the school was a member of the SEC. For example, Arkansas won 18 national championship prior to joining the SEC in 1992. If those are removed from the table below, Arkansas would be tied for fourth place with 24 national championships while a member of the SEC. Texas A&M won 11 national championships and Missouri two before joining the SEC in 2012.

In addition, some recognized national championships are in sports that are (or were) not sponsored by the SEC:

  • Kentucky's total includes one championship in rifle, which the SEC has never sponsored.
  • Vanderbilt's only national title is in bowling, another sport yet to be sponsored by the SEC.

Famous quotes containing the words totals and/or school:

Living is like working out a long addition sum, and if you make a mistake in the first two totals you will never find the right answer. It means involving oneself in a complicated chain of circumstances.
    Cesare Pavese (1908–1950)

It’s a rare parent who can see his or her child clearly and objectively. At a school board meeting I attended . . . the only definition of a gifted child on which everyone in the audience could agree was “mine.”
    Jane Adams (20th century)
