The Ganesha appears in a concept design sketch by artist George Hull, and in the Zion Archives. A vessel matching the concept design sketch can be seen landed in Bay 6 when the Nebuchadnezzar returns to Zion in The Matrix Reloaded, but this hovercraft is actually more likely to be the Brahma. Presumably, the Ganesha is part of the fleet sent to intercept the invading Sentinels. The ship was not initially disabled when Bane sets off the EMP, but nevertheless must have been destroyed shortly after. Its name derives from Ganesha, the Hindu god, considered as the remover of obstacles.
