Public Safety Commission

The Public Safety Commission (公安委員会, Kōan'iinkai?, English manga: "Protection Committee" or "Security Enforcement Committee") is a group of enforcers on school grounds charged with protecting the academy. These members use their status to their advantage, similar to hall monitors, and anyone who opposes them is delivered swift punishment through methods of imprisonment and torture. They collect tribute and bribes from clubs, and if they do not pay, they will be shut down. The Public Safety Committee have a long-standing rivalry with the Newspaper Club for exploiting their true nature, and had decimated the previous Newspaper Club in the past, leaving Gin the only member. According to Deshi in the anime, she, Kuyo, a bespectacled male who becomes a cerberus, and a tall, sadistic male who becomes a golem are referred to as the "Four Kings".

Famous quotes containing the words public, safety and/or commission:

It was a fatal day when the public discovered that the pen is mightier than the paving-stone, and can be made as offensive as the brickbat. They at once sought for the journalist, found him, developed him, and made him their industrious and well-paid servant. It is greatly to be regretted, for both their sakes.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)

A lover is never a completely self-reliant person viewing the world through his own eyes, but a hostage to a certain delusion. He becomes a perjurer, all his thoughts and emotions being directed with reference, not to an accurate and just appraisal of the real world but rather to the safety and exaltation of his loved one, and the madness with which he pursues her, transmogrifying his attention, blinds him like a victim.
    Alexander Theroux (b. 1940)

A sense of humour keen enough to show a man his own absurdities as well as those of other people will keep a man from the commission of all sins, or nearly all, save those that are worth committing.
    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)
