This is a list of Rolls-Royce motor cars and includes vehicles produced by:
- Rolls-Royce Limited (1906–73)
- Rolls-Royce Motors (1973–2003), which was created as a result of the demerger of Rolls-Royce Limited which was nationalized back in 1971. Rolls-Royce Motors was owned by Vickers between 1980 and 1998, and after that by Volkswagen Group. Since 2003, this subsidiary company has been known as Bentley Motors Limited as Volkswagen ceded the rights of building Rolls-Royce branded cars to BMW. This company, however, retains historical Rolls-Royce car assets such as the Crewe factory and L Series V8 engine.
- Rolls-Royce Motor Cars subsidiary of BMW established to continue production of Rolls-Royce cars.
Famous quotes containing the words list of, list, motor and/or cars:
“Every morning I woke in dread, waiting for the day nurse to go on her rounds and announce from the list of names in her hand whether or not I was for shock treatment, the new and fashionable means of quieting people and of making them realize that orders are to be obeyed and floors are to be polished without anyone protesting and faces are to be made to be fixed into smiles and weeping is a crime.”
—Janet Frame (b. 1924)
“Do your children view themselves as successes or failures? Are they being encouraged to be inquisitive or passive? Are they afraid to challenge authority and to question assumptions? Do they feel comfortable adapting to change? Are they easily discouraged if they cannot arrive at a solution to a problem? The answers to those questions will give you a better appraisal of their education than any list of courses, grades, or test scores.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
“What shall we do with country quiet now?
A motor drones insanely in the blue
Like a bad bird in a dream.”
—Babette Deutsch (18951982)
“Cuchulain stirred,
Stared on the horses of the sea, and heard
The cars of battle and his own name cried;
And fought with the invulnerable tide.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
