This is a list of rivers, tributaries and creeks located on the island of Prince Edward Island.
Despite the fact that many are called rivers, their freshwater portions are not large enough to warrant this name. These watercourses are more correctly categorized as streams, with the majority of their length being tidal inlets or estuaries where the small amount of fresh water interchanges with salt water from the Gulf of St. Lawrence or Northumberland Strait.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list, rivers, prince, edward and/or island:
“Every morning I woke in dread, waiting for the day nurse to go on her rounds and announce from the list of names in her hand whether or not I was for shock treatment, the new and fashionable means of quieting people and of making them realize that orders are to be obeyed and floors are to be polished without anyone protesting and faces are to be made to be fixed into smiles and weeping is a crime.”
—Janet Frame (b. 1924)
“A mans interest in a single bluebird is worth more than a complete but dry list of the fauna and flora of a town.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“He who hears the rippling of rivers in these degenerate days will not utterly despair.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The prince in disguise makes the most charming beggar in the world, no doubt; but that is becauseas all fairy-tales from the beginning of time have taught usthe prince wears his rags as if they were purple. And, to do that, he not only must once have worn purple, but must never forget the purple that he has worn. And to the argument that all cannot wear purple, I can ... only reply that that seems to me to be no reason why all should wear rags.”
—Katharine Fullerton Gerould (18791944)
“We take along a carrot
As refreshment for the parrot,
And a little can of jungleberry tea.”
—Charles Edward Carryl (18411920)
“That island of England breeds very valiant creatures; their
mastiffs are of unmatchable courage.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
