The XM was a family of straight-4 gasoline engines. These engines had an OHV design valvetrain, with 2 valves per cylinder. Bore and stroke were 84 mm and 81 mm, respectively. The versions available were:
- XM7 — 1.8 L (1796 cc)
- XMKF5 — 1.8 L (1796 cc)
- XMKF6 — 1.8 L (1796 cc)
The XM engines were used in the Peugeot 504 and Peugeot 505.
