Peter Jenkins
Peter Jenkins, a photojournalist, walked from Alfred, New York, setting off in October 1973, to Florence, Oregon, which he reached in January 1979. He detailed his account with National Geographic magazine and in his book, A Walk Across America. He then married in Mobile Florida and they walked to Oregon.
