Season Achievements
The 1997–98 NHL season saw the largest number of players (six) achieve their 1000th point. A total of 5 players scored their 1000th point in the 1990–91 season.
Starting with Gordie Howe's achievement in 1960–61, and ignoring the cancelled (lockout) season of 2004–05, there have been 15 seasons in which no player happened to score their 1000th career point. Of these 15, there were seven seasons between Gordie Howe and the second player, Jean Beliveau, to make it to the 1000 point mark.

Famous quotes containing the words season and/or achievements:
“The season developed and matured. Another years installment of flowers, leaves, nightingales, thrushes, finches, and such ephemeral creatures, took up their positions where only a year ago others had stood in their place when these were nothing more than germs and inorganic particles. Rays from the sunrise drew forth the buds and stretched them into long stalks, lifted up sap in noiseless streams, opened petals, and sucked out scents in invisible jets and breathings.”
—Thomas Hardy (18401928)
“Freedom of enterprise was from the beginning not altogether a blessing. As the liberty to work or to starve, it spelled toil, insecurity, and fear for the vast majority of the population. If the individual were no longer compelled to prove himself on the market, as a free economic subject, the disappearance of this freedom would be one of the greatest achievements of civilization.”
—Herbert Marcuse (18981979)
