Orleans | Commissioned in 1943, The USS Cabot (CVL-28/AVT-3) was an Independence-class aircraft carrier in the United States Navy. From 1967-1989, she served in Spain as the Dédalo. A New Orleans-based museum foundation purchased the ship for restoration in 1990, but was unable to obtain sufficient funding. The Cabot was eventually scrapped and withdrawn as a Landmark on August 7, 2001. |
