Angelica Mary "Angel" King is the daughter of Jimmy and Nicola King. She has appeared since 6 August 2009.
Angelica is born on 6 August 2009 and is immediately taken to the special baby unit because of breathing difficulties. She was given the all-clear twenty-four hours later. She is kidnapped by Lexi but soon returned after Jimmy, Nicola, Carl and Scarlett find Lexi and Angelica on the hospital roof.
Angel was pushed into the middle of the road, a few days before her christening by Sally Spode because Laurel was Angel's godmother. Because Thomas and Anya King took her for a walk before, Nicola was first to point the finger at them but then Genesis Walker and Nikhil Sharma found her, much to Sally's displeasure.
Angel's christening was nearly a disaster as Jimmy was away on a trip and returned late due to the Haulage Van breaking down. Angel's godfather Carl King never showed up as he stayed at the van break down scene so Jimmy could get to Angel's christening. Carl still becomes Angel's godfather and swears to do anything for his niece and goddaughter and treats her how he should treat Thomas and Anya.
When Angel was at Kids Klub with Nicola, she was bitten by Cathy Hope. Nicola then bit Cathy to show her how it is to be bitten. Viv Hope Cathy's mother then took Nicola to court. Nicola was given a caution and just about made it to her wedding to Jimmy.
Angel was made homeless by her Uncle Carl in early 2012 and moved in with Grandad Rodney and Brenda. Brenda then moved in temporaroly with Pollard as she was having an affair with him. Angel wasn't allowed to see him the last few weeks before he died. Angel moved back into Carl's house after he died. She is now adjusting to life without her Uncle and life with her cousin Thomas.
On 2 December 2012, the first actress to play Angelica, three-year-old Sophie Firth, was rushed to hospital after her dress was set alight by a gas fire at her grandmother's home. After nine days in hospital, she died on 11 December. Fans of Emmerdale and stars on the show including Nick Miles and Nicola Wheeler, who play her onscreen parents, took to Twitter to express their sympathy of Sophie's death.
