  • Melbourne, Australia. In 1998 a memorial in the form of a Famine Rock with plaque was erected on the foreshore of Port Phillip at Williamstown. This was the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the first boat load of Irish Famine orphan girls.
  • Sydney, Australia. The Australian Monument to the Great Irish Famine is located in the courtyard wall of the Hyde Park Barracks, Macquarie Street, Sydney. It symbolises the experiences of young Irishwomen fleeing the Great Irish Famine of 1845–1849, and was sculpted by Angela and Hossein Valamanesh.
