List Of Marvel Comics Characters: R

Radion the Atomic Man is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. He first appeared in Marvel Two-in-One #9 (August 1976), and was created by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen.

The character subsequently appears as the Ravager in Iron Fist #3-4 (February, April 1976), and as Dr. Henri Sorel in Marvel Two-In-One #55 (September 1979), Marvel Super-Heroes 33 (September 1990), and Avengers Unplugged #5 (June 1996).

Exposure to radioactive isotopes caused Dr. Henri Sorel to mutate into an inhuman being who could generate blasts of nuclear energy, and warped his personality. The Puppet Master agreed to assist Radion in exchange for his help. Radion amplified the radiation in the Puppet Master's clay, enabling him to use Thor to attack the Fantastic Four. When Wundarr the Aquarian arrived to help, he absorbed Radion's powers, causing Radion to flee.

Sorel then constructed a suit of armor to contain his energies and protect himself from reaching critical mass. He renamed himself the Ravager and traveled to London. At Heathrow Airport, Iron Fist and Misty Knight attacked him and were defeated. When his chestplate controls were smashed by Iron Fist, a nuclear chain reaction began in his body which might have caused him to explode, if he had not been returned to human form, drained of radiation.

Sorel, cured in mind and body, then came to be employed by Project: Pegasus as head of the human resources research dome. He gained the opportunity to study a number of superhuman beings. His research led to the construction of the Vault, and he was eventually employed at the Vault as well.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list and/or marvel:

Every morning I woke in dread, waiting for the day nurse to go on her rounds and announce from the list of names in her hand whether or not I was for shock treatment, the new and fashionable means of quieting people and of making them realize that orders are to be obeyed and floors are to be polished without anyone protesting and faces are to be made to be fixed into smiles and weeping is a crime.
    Janet Frame (b. 1924)

Love’s boat has been shattered against the life of everyday. You and I are quits, and it’s useless to draw up a list of mutual hurts, sorrows, and pains.
    Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893–1930)

And there could I marvel my birthday
Away but the weather turned around. And the true
Joy of the long dead child sang burning
    In the sun.
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)
