List of Marvel Comics Characters: E - Earthquake

Earthquake is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #137 (September 1980), and was created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne.

Earthquake is a member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. He is unique in that he is a sentient reptile. Unlike many of his fellow Guardsmen, Earthquake survived the Imperial Guard's battle with Vulcan.

In the X-Men: Emperor Vulcan miniseries, Vulcan summoned Earthquake to defend him against the Eldest, leader of the Scy'ar Tal. The Eldest chided Earthquake and the other Guardsmen for serving their Shi'ar enslaves and easily defeated most of them, seemingly killing Earthquake.

Earthquake has rock-like skin and the ability to manipulate silicate matter in a destructive manner.

Earthquake appeared as part of the "Imperial Guard" entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition #6.

Famous quotes containing the word earthquake:

It is crystal clear to me that if Arabs put down a draft resolution blaming Israel for the recent earthquake in Iran it would probably have a majority, the U.S. would veto it and Britain and France would abstain.
    Amos Oz (b. 1939)

Through the din and desultoriness of noon, even in the most Oriental city, is seen the fresh and primitive and savage nature, in which Scythians and Ethiopians and Indians dwell. What is echo, what are light and shade, day and night, ocean and stars, earthquake and eclipse, there? The works of man are everywhere swallowed up in the immensity of nature. The AEgean Sea is but Lake Huron still to the Indian.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
