Famous quotes containing the word board:

She hears me strike the board and say
    That she is under ban
Of all good men and women,
    Being mentioned with a man
That has the worst of all bad names.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

During depression the world disappears. Language itself. One has nothing to say. Nothing. No small talk, no anecdotes. Nothing can be risked on the board of talk. Because the inner voice is so urgent in its own discourse: How shall I live? How shall I manage the future? Why should I go on?
    Kate Millett (b. 1934)

Watteau is no less an artist for having painted a fascia board while Sainsbury’s is no less effective a business for producing advertisements which entertain and educate instead of condescending and exploiting.
    Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)
