List of Elfquest Characters - High Ones

High Ones

At least twelve High Ones survived the landing on the World of Two Moons.

  • Adya - male, close friend of Timmain; the first to try to make contact with the humans, and the first to be killed. Possible father of her daughter Rellah. Blonde hair and blue eyes. He was their Eyes, seeing where the Circle of the Nine would go. Timmain stated that if she had chosen a lifemate, he would have been hers.
  • Aerth - male, Lovemate of Timmain, a healer and possible ancestor of Leetah. A possible father of Timmain's daughter Rellah, he helped raise Timmorn alongside Sefra. Auburn hair and green eyes, he was the Circle of the Nine's Ears, deciding why they would go.
  • Deir - male, lifemate of Gibra and father of Vol, possibly Voll of Blue Mountain. He accompanied Gibra on her quest to find Haken and show him the infant Vol. He is a possible ancestor of the Gliders. He had short red hair.
  • Gibra - female, mother of Vol, her son with Deir, her lifemate. She was the Caution in the Circle of the Nine, holding them back. She had blonde hair and blue eyes. She went after Haken after his banishment, hoping baby Vol would turn his heart to good. (It is possible Vol is meant to be Lord Voll; his memories in "Siege At Blue Mountain" invoke the images of elves who look like Gibra and Deir.)
  • Guin - killed during the humans' first assault, a close friend of Haken's.
  • Haken - Timmain's nemesis, possible ancestor of Winnowill or Rayek. He wanted to conquer the humans. He was Gibra's opposite, Passion, pushing them forward. He was mutilated and banished by Timmain. It is not known what became of him. Black hair, dark skin, and yellow eyes.
  • Ima - killed during the humans' first assault.
  • Kalil - male, possible lovemate of Kaslen. Brown hair and brown eyes, appears a gentler tempered version of Strongbow. He refuses to sing with the rest of the Circle after they crash, but agrees to keep time by beating out rhythm.
  • Kaslen - female treeshaper, possible lovemate of Kalil, it was her broken arm that started the conflict between Timmain and Haken. Possible ancestor of Redlance. Long red-orange and green eyes.
  • Orolin - male, tended the Scroll of Colors within the Palace. According to Timmain, he eventually died without ever waking after his Preserver cocoon tore open in the crash of the Palace.
  • Sefra - female, Timekeeper of the Circle of the Nine, close friend of Timmain's. The first stargazer, a probable ancestor of Skywise and Shale. Silver hair and eyes. It is hinted that she Recognizes Aerth.
  • Timmain - with Aerth, mother of an unnamed daughter (most likely Savah, who claims that Timmain is her mother upon meeting her in wolf form), and with an unnamed wolf of Timmorn Yellow-Eyes; the only one to learn to adapt to the world, and mother of the Wolfriders; still alive, after spending millennia in wolf form, and now in a complicated relationship with Skywise (it is rumored Jink is their child).
  • Tislin - killed during the humans' first assault.

Even more elves, such as Rellah, Enlet, Almeck, Nefahrin, Menolan, Seeree, Oraynah, Marreck and Jennah are mentioned in the "Blood Of Ten Chiefs" collaboration novels edited by Richard Pini.

Famous quotes containing the word high:

Manhattan. Sometimes from beyond the skyscrapers, across the hundreds of thousands of high walls, the cry of a tugboat finds you in your insomnia in the middle of the night, and you remember that this desert of iron and cement is an island.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

    What generous beliefs console
The brave whom Fate denies the goal!
If others reach it, is content:
To Heaven’s high will his will is bent.
    Firm on his heart relied,
    What lot soe’er betide,
    Work of his hand
    He nor repents nor grieves,
    Pleads for itself the fact,
    As unrepenting Nature leaves
    Her every act.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
