A planet in the 70 Ophiuchi A system, Sikun is home to the useful plant akarso. In Dune it is noted that a variant of the ancient Buddislamic religion is dominant at Sikun.
On January 6, 2010, a real-world feature of Saturn's moon Titan was named Sikun Labrynthus after Herbert's fictional planet.
