The Mole reappeared 30 years later—reformed and stricken with arthritis—in cameo concerning his granddaughter Molene, Johnny Scorn and Pouch. He also had a cigar smoking cat and maintained discipline in his gang by branding them. He had a habit of talking to his rose plant and making decisions based on a Ouija board. On the run after stealing a space coupe and escaping from Tracy—who uncovered evidence of all his crimes—Bribery was sent to the State Pen. {#620}. He escaped from prison by bribing the Chin Chillars to steal a space coupe with the offer of trying to recover a fortune of his money that was lost in orbit. After recovering the loot, the Chin Chillars gave Bribery alcohol to drink until he passed out and then "returned" Bribery to prison by dropping/killing him from a great height through the Prison carpentry shop roof. The money was then destroyed while escaping from Dick Tracy.

She also wore a small beard on her chin, as did her husband, who often called her "Doll" and "Baby." The Chin Chillars conspired with Mr. Bribery to steal a police space coupe and collect $100,000 that was orbiting the Earth. The trio successfully captured the money, but the Chin Chillars got Bribery drunk and killed him by dropping him from a great height into the prison from which he had been freed. The couple was then chased by Dick Tracy and Diet Smith, who followed them in another space coupe. The Chin Chillars escaped their pursuers, but they also lost the $100,000 when it burned up in the atmosphere during the chase. Mrs. Chin Chillar and her husband then sought asylum on Piggy Butcher's "farm" (a front for a stolen car operation), but Piggy took them prisoner and made them sleep in his stables. Piggy took a fancy to the flirtatious Mrs. Chin Chillar and made her his personal slave and lover. She cooked his meals and dutifully fulfilled his needs no matter the time of day. Piggy also forced Mr. Chin Chillar to use the stolen space coupe to hijack an armored car. Piggy became increasingly obsessed with his "housemother" (nickname he gave Mrs. Chin Chillar), though he didn't like her beard. He eventually ordered his men to shave it off, but he stopped them when she cried out in pain, leaving her with two beards. Meanwhile, Tracy and Sam had tracked the missing space coupe to Piggy's farm and were doing air surveillance when the Chin Chillars spotted them. The couple flagged down Tracy and Sam and agreed to work for them to spy against Piggy. Tracy gave them a wrist TV to communicate with the police, but Piggy's henchman discovered the device and reported it to Piggy. Piggy was infuriated by the betrayal of his "housemother" and forced her and her husband to hang by their hands in his bedroom until they agreed to get the wrist TV to work. They were finally rescued when Moon Maid and Tracy invaded Piggy's farm, captured Piggy, and arrested the Chin Chillars. The Chin Chillars were later released on bail, whereupon they tracked down and captured a very drunk Piggy, who was also free on bond. They dragged Piggy back to their apartment but accidentally strangled him before they could torture him as they had intended. Tracy and Sam arrived at the apartment just at this point, and a panicked Mr. Chin Chillar opened fire on them. Mr. Chin Chillar was killed in the ensuing gunfight, and his wife was arrested and sent to prison. Mrs. Chin Chillar made several more appearances during the subsequent case involving her brother Purdy Fallar. Her maiden name was Notteema Fallar, but she went by Notta Fallar, a funny play on words because of her beard. • Sharptop Jones - Sharptop is Flattop's twin brother and exact double except for a distinctive cowlick which makes one strand of Sharptop's hair protrude straight upwards from the familiar flat cranium. Sharptop and Flattop were raised separately and had almost no contact with each other; whereas Flattop became a notorious criminal, Sharptop had a respected career as a college professor and refused to discuss his infamous brother, whom he claimed he barely knew. During a post-Gould continuity, Sharptop was apparently possessed by the spirit of his deceased brother, causing Sharptop (allegedly Flattop inhabiting Sharptop's body) to assemble a gang of henchmen and commit a crime wave. During his criminal activities, Sharptop used hair oil to slick down his cowlick, thus becoming a double of Flattop. Tracy was able to arrest him after Sharptop apparently managed to overcome the supernatural possession and evict Flattop's soul from his body. The strip never established whether a genuine supernatural occurrence had taken place, and Tracy himself refused to comment on it ... except to note that Sharptop's long respectable academic career would be taken into consideration by the district attorney.

Famous quotes containing the word enemies:

So each man, like each plant, has his parasites. A strong, astringent, bilious nature has more truculent enemies than the slugs and moths that fret my leaves. Such a one has curculios, borers, knife-worms; a swindler ate him first, then a client, then a quack, then smooth, plausible gentlemen, bitter and selfish as Moloch.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Faith is not sure, if you cannot turn love to quarrel; may my enemies obtain a mild mistress.
    Propertius Sextus (c. 50–16 B.C.)

There are no enemies in science, professor. Only phenomena to study.
    Charles Lederer (1910–1976)
