The Queen of The Black Puddle

Voiced by Tress MacNeille

The Queen of the Black Puddle is an otherworldly siren temptress who resides within a supernatural black puddle. Her sinister goals are to seduce men gradually until she eventually manages to guide them to her puddle, where she eats them. She appeared in an episode where she successfully managed to charm Eustace and almost succeeded in devouring him, but Courage triumphed over her after a battle with her. At the episode's end, when Courage is bathing, a canine version of the Queen of the Black Puddle appears from the bath water. She later returns as part of the group to get rid of Courage.

Famous quotes containing the words puddle, queen and/or black:

An oblong puddle inset in the coarse asphalt; like a fancy footprint filled to the brim with quicksilver; like a spatulate hole through which you can see the nether sky. Surrounded, I note, by a diffuse tentacled black dampness where some dull dun dead leaves have stuck. Drowned, I should say, before the puddle had shrunk to its present size.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

It is better to pay court to a queen ... than to worship, as we too often do, some unworthy person whose wealth is his sole passport into society. I believe that a habit of respect is good for the human race.
    M. E. W. Sherwood (1826–1903)

A black boxer’s career is the perfect metaphor for the career of a black male. Every day is like being in the gym, sparring with impersonal opponents as one faces the rudeness and hostility that a black male must confront in the United States, where he is the object of both fear and fascination.
    Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
