Eve Sykes (previously Elliot) is the ex-wife of Fred, she first appears at the funeral of her son Dean in October 2000. Eve tries to explain to daughter Linda Baldwin why she abandoned the family but Linda holds her responsible for Dean going off the rails and is upset that she left her to be mother to them all.
