Famous quotes containing the words list of, list, cleveland and/or seasons:

    The advice of their elders to young men is very apt to be as unreal as a list of the hundred best books.
    Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. (1841–1935)

    Love’s boat has been shattered against the life of everyday. You and I are quits, and it’s useless to draw up a list of mutual hurts, sorrows, and pains.
    Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893–1930)

    Sometimes I wake at night in the White House and rub my eyes and wonder if it is not all a dream.
    —Grover Cleveland (1837–1908)

    For winter’s rains and ruins are over,
    And all the seasons of snows and sins;
    The days dividing lover and lover,
    The light that loses, the night that wins;
    And time remembered is grief forgotten,
    And frosts are slain and flowers begotten,
    And in green underwood and cover
    Blossom by blossom the spring begins.
