Ireland

In the Republic of Ireland, the main cable network provider UPC Ireland, which is owned by Liberty Global, offer a wide range of packages from 20 Mbit/s down to 100 Mbit/s down, and 1.2 Mbit/s up to 7 Mbit/s up on their digital cable platform in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and other urban areas throughout the Republic of Ireland. UPC makes use of the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 packet cable standard, to provide high speed internet access and a VoIP phone service (VoIP service costs 5 EUR or 10 EUR per month, depending on how many of their services you take).

They offer the following four packages:

Internet Plan Downstream Upstream Bandwidth Included Price
Fibre Power 20Mb 20 Mbit/s 2 Mbit/s 500 GB 25 EUR
Fibre Power 25Mb 25 Mbit/s 2.5 Mbit/s 500 GB 35 EUR
Fibre Power 50Mb 50 Mbit/s 5 Mbit/s 500 GB 45 EUR
Fibre Power 100Mb 100 Mbit/s 7 Mbit/s 500 GB 55 EUR

If broadband is taken without UPC's television service, then an additional 6 EUR fee applies on top of the monthly package fee. Some legacy packages may also exist and customers using <50Mbit/s may be provisioned using EuroDOCSIS 2.0 equipment in some areas.

Famous quotes containing the word ireland:

The tragedy of Northern Ireland is that it is now a society in which the dead console the living.
    Jack Holland (b. 1947)

There is no topic ... more soporific and generally boring than the topic of Ireland as Ireland, as a nation.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)

They call them the haunted shores, these stretches of Devonshire and Cornwall and Ireland which rear up against the westward ocean. Mists gather here, and sea fog, and eerie stories. That’s not because there are more ghosts here than in other places, mind you. It’s just that people who live hereabouts are strangely aware of them.
Dodie Smith, and Lewis Allen. Roderick Fitzgerald (Ray Milland)
