Cavalry

  • 1st Cavalry Division
The division was formed in the United Kingdom, on 31 October 1939. It was then deployed to Palestine, arriving in January 1940. Elements of the division formed Habforce, and took part in the Anglo-Iraqi War and the Syria–Lebanon Campaign. On 1 August 1941, the division was reorganised into the 10th Armoured Division.
