Pelicans
Order: Pelecaniformes. Family: Pelecanidae
Pelicans are large water birds with a distinctive pouch under the beak. Like other birds in the order Pelecaniformes, they have four webbed toes. In South Carolina, two species have been recorded.

- Brown Pelican, Pelecanus occidentalis
