Pelicans
Order: Pelecaniformes Family: Pelecanidae
Pelicans are very large water birds with a distinctive pouch under the beak. Like other birds in the order Pelecaniformes, they have four webbed toes. In Connecticut, two species have been recorded.

- Brown Pelican, Pelecanus occidentalis (R)
