List of Awards and Nominations Received By East Enders - The British Soap Awards

The British Soap Awards

The British Soap Awards began in 1999 and EastEnders has since won the award for Best British Soap ten times. EastEnders has won more British Soap Awards than any other soap opera. Six categories (Best British Soap, Best Actor, Best Actress, Villain of the Year, Sexiest Male and Sexiest Female) are voted for by the public, the rest by a panel. Adam Woodyatt won a lifetime achievement award in 2013 for his portrayal of Ian Beale since 1985.

Famous quotes containing the words british and/or soap:

The British blockade won the war; but the wonder is that the British blockhead did not lose it. I suppose the enemy was no wiser. War is not a sharpener of wits.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

A ‘spasm band’ is a miscellaneous collection of a soap box, tin cans, pan tops, nails, drumsticks, and little Negro boys. When mixed in the proper proportions this results in the wildest shuffle dancing, accompanied by a bumping rhythm.
—For the City of New Orleans, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
