  • In July 1999, Amitabh Bachchan was named the "Greatest Star of stage or screen of the Millennium" by BBC online poll where he defeated many Hollywood legends such as Alec Guinness, Marlon Brando, Laurence Olivier and Charlie Chaplin.
  • In June 2000, Bachchan became the first living Asian to have been immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds London.
