List Of Airports In The Greater Toronto Area

There are nine airports in the Greater Toronto Area. Pearson, Billy Bishop and Hamilton have scheduled passenger service; however, the vast majority of passenger traffic goes through Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which is Canada's busiest airport and the country's major hub. Hamilton handles some discount flights and charters and acts as an alternative to Pearson. Billy Bishop is used for civil aviation, air ambulance traffic and regional scheduled airlines. Buttonville formerly had scheduled passenger service from Ottawa operated by Bearskin Airlines, but it has been discontinued. Hamilton is popular with charters and discount airlines who want to avoid fees at Pearson, which is among the world's most expensive airports. YTO is a multiple airport code that works for Pearson, City Centre, and Buttonville.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list, greater and/or area:

    Religious literature has eminent examples, and if we run over our private list of poets, critics, philanthropists and philosophers, we shall find them infected with this dropsy and elephantiasis, which we ought to have tapped.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    The advice of their elders to young men is very apt to be as unreal as a list of the hundred best books.
    Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. (1841–1935)

    So the soul, that drop, that ray
    Of the clear fountain of eternal day,
    Could it within the human flower be seen,
    Remembering still its former height,
    Shuns the sweet leaves and blossoms green;
    And, recollecting its own light,
    Does, in its pure and circling thoughts, express
    The greater heaven in an heaven less.
    Andrew Marvell (1621–1678)

    I am aware of the damp souls of housemaids
    Sprouting despondently at area gates.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
