List of Airports in Norway

This is a list of airports in Norway, grouped by type and sorted by location served. It currently contains only airports which have ICAO airport codes; those codes are linked to each airport's page at AIP Norway.

The airports are be classified as "primary" (stamrute), and "regional" (regionale). The primary airports are served by jets from SAS and Norwegian, and several have international flights. The smaller regional airports have in many cases short runways and were built for STOL flights, such as the Bombardier Dash 8 planes used by Widerøe. The regional airports located north of Trondheim do not usually have flights to Oslo, but only to a primary airport, because of the limited range of the STOL planes. Because of the often slow road network in northern and western Norway there is a need for air as regional transportation method.

Avinor operate the majority of public airports, of which 16 are primary, and 29 are secondary. Torp and Rygge are the largest private airports.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list and/or norway:

Love’s boat has been shattered against the life of everyday. You and I are quits, and it’s useless to draw up a list of mutual hurts, sorrows, and pains.
    Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893–1930)

I made a list of things I have
    to remember and a list
of things I want to forget,
but I see they are the same list.
    Linda Pastan (b. 1932)

Write about winter in the summer. Describe Norway as Ibsen did, from a desk in Italy; describe Dublin as James Joyce did, from a desk in Paris. Willa Cather wrote her prairie novels in New York City; Mark Twain wrote Huckleberry Finn in Hartford, Connecticut. Recently, scholars learned that Walt Whitman rarely left his room.
    Annie Dillard (b. 1945)
