The first country to receive the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was the USA where it appealed mainly to the African-American population though with some Caucasian converts. Many eminent jazz musicians converted to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community like Sahib Shihab, Art Blakey (Abdullah ibn Buhaina) and Yusef Lateef.
