List of 1632 Characters (fictional) - Gretchen Richter

Gretchen Richter first appears in 1632, becoming the founder and leader of the Committees of Correspondence. Rescued by Jeff Higgins from rape in the life she was forced into as a camp follower, Gretchen was quick to grasp uptime concepts of democracy and human rights. She spreads these ideas with fervor, and soon Committees of Correspondence are appearing nearly everywhere in Central Europe. She is the granddaughter of Veronica Dreeson and sister to Hans Richter. Gretchen figures prominently in cameo appearances in virtually all of the books, or is at least mentioned, as the bane of the European autocratic nobility of high and low estates.
