Legal Troubles
In August 2010, Kelly was arrested in North Carolina on a charge of driving while intoxicated. In November 2010, she pleaded guilty, was fined, and was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation.
On March 31, 2012, Kelly was arrested on a felony charge of corporal injury upon a spouse, and was released on $50,000 bail. After being released on bail, Kelly went onto her Facebook account to ask for money and to claim that her boyfriend, John Michas's injuries were self-inflicted. She later made public statements claiming that she was set up by her boyfriend who injured himself in an effort to frame the actress as a domestic abuser. On April 4, 2012, she tweeted that she was "relieved the nightmare is over". On May 12, 2012, TMZ reported that the LA County DA declined to file charges.
In November 2012, she was arrested again for allegedly assaulting her 61-year-old husband.

Famous quotes containing the words legal and/or troubles:
“I am opposed to writing about the private lives of living authors and psychoanalyzing them while they are alive. Criticism is getting all mixed up with a combination of the Junior F.B.I.- men, discards from Freud and Jung and a sort of Columnist peep- hole and missing laundry list school.... Every young English professor sees gold in them dirty sheets now. Imagine what they can do with the soiled sheets of four legal beds by the same writer and you can see why their tongues are slavering.”
—Ernest Hemingway (18991961)
“I still think I ought to leave Washington well alone. I have many friends in that city who can of their own motion speak confidently of my ways of thinking and acting. An authorized representative could remove some troubles that you now see, but only think of yet greater troubles he might create.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
