Relation To Classification of Clouds
Clouds that have low densities, such as cirrus clouds, contain very little water, thus resulting in relatively low liquid water content values of around .03g/m3. Clouds that have high densities, like cumulonimbus clouds, have much higher liquid water content values that are around 1-3g/m3, as more liquid is present in the same amount of space. Below is a chart giving typical LWC values of various cloud types. (Thompson, 2007).
Cloud Type | LWC (g/m3) |
---|---|
cirrus | .03 |
fog | .05 |
stratus | .25-.30 |
cumulus | .25-.30 |
stratocumulus | .45 |
cumulonimbus | 1.0-3.0 |

Famous quotes containing the words relation to, relation and/or clouds:
“Among the most valuable but least appreciated experiences parenthood can provide are the opportunities it offers for exploring, reliving, and resolving ones own childhood problems in the context of ones relation to ones child.”
—Bruno Bettelheim (20th century)
“You must realize that I was suffering from love and I knew him as intimately as I knew my own image in a mirror. In other words, I knew him only in relation to myself.”

“A ward, and still in bonds, one day
I stole abroad;
It was high spring, and all the way
Primrosed and hung with shade;
Yet was it frost within,
And surly winds
Blasted my infant buds, and sin
Like clouds eclipsed my mind.”
—Henry Vaughan (16221695)
