Line Regulation

Line regulation is the capability to maintain a constant output voltage level on the output channel of a power supply despite changes to the input voltage level. Line regulation is expressed as percent of change in the output voltage relative to the change in the input line voltage. This measurement is normally taken under conditions of low power dissipation to reduce the effect of average chip temperature and is typically represented as a percentage of the output voltage.

Famous quotes containing the words line and/or regulation:

In order to get to East Russet you take the Vermont Central as far as Twitchell’s Falls and change there for Torpid River Junction, where a spur line takes you right into Gormley. At Gormley you are met by a buckboard which takes you back to Torpid River Junction again.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

Nothing changes my twenty-six years in the military. I continue to love it and everything it stands for and everything I was able to accomplish in it. To put up a wall against the military because of one regulation would be doing the same thing that the regulation does in terms of negating people.
    Margarethe Cammermeyer (b. 1942)
