Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service - Personnel

Personnel

The service employs approximately 900 firefighters and staff, with around 200 full-time firefighters. The county's 38 fire stations are allocated to one of three Divisions (East, West and South). The majority of Lincolnshire is covered by retained (part-time) staff, who attend on a call-out basis, due to the comparative large distances between main towns, and the county's spartan road network. In 2007, it was announced that the fire service had the UK's slowest average time to respond - ten minutes - due to the distances involved. The headquarters are based on South Park Avenue (A15) in the south of Lincoln.
