Malay Peninsular Setting
In 2004, Ralph A. Olsen suggested that it is possible that the events recorded in the Book of Mormon took place in a limited area somewhere other than the Western Hemisphere. In his opinion, many Book of Mormon events could plausibly be placed in the Malay Peninsula. This author has acknowledged that consideration of his "Malay hypothesis" by LDS scholars would require Book of Mormon archaeology to "undergo a radical paradigm shift—one that many would consider quite far-fetched."
