Light Pulse Generator

Light Pulse Generator, also referred as Optical Pulse Generator, refers to a device that generates optical pulses (in lieu of electrical pulses). The pulses are typically variable by rep rate, pulse width, amplitude (in this case intensity), delay and width of pulse.

Light pulses, particularly with fast risetimes, are idea for detector and PMT testing, optical characterization, benchtop simulation and optical component R&D (lens, collimator, refraction devices, etc.). Generally the light is coupled to one's test configuration via optical fiber. The light may be coupled via multi-mode, single-mode and even PM (polarization maintaining) fiber.
