Lifespring - Spinoffs

Spinoffs

While trainings continued until the mid-nineties in certain parts of the country, the lawsuits and critical media coverage crippled the company. Lifespring training, once offered under a unified corporate umbrella, now appears in several forms world-wide and is delivered by differently-named companies. Among these are "Discovery" located in several areas of Texas and Southern California. Another Lifespring program was adapted for Russia and is known as Leadership Academy or Sinton. A new religious movement called Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness has been referred to as an "offshoot" of Lifespring.

In 1998, former LifeSpring facilitator David Gilcrease went on to develop a spinoff called Resource Realizations in conjunction with the Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASPS) a conglomerate of troubled teen behavior modification programs. Resource Realizations offers seminars to both children and parents of students enrolled in WWASPS programs. In 2006, Resource Realizations changed their name to Premiere Educational Seminars. In 2006, a lawsuit on behalf of 353 plaintiffs has named David Gilcrease and Resource Realizations as a defendant in their claims that the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASPS) was responsible for several abuses against the children in their charge.
