Life Time Fitness Triathlon

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon is a triathlon race held annually in Minneapolis Minnesota. An Olympic Distance length course winds its way through the city, drafting is not permitted.

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon offers the largest professional prize purse in triathlon, this event draws international triathlon talent in large numbers. The race is conducted in "equalizer" format, the men start behind women by an amount that theoretically gives each gender an equal chance of winning. This format is also referred to as the "Battle of the Sexes" and is arguably one of the most interesting forms of Triathlon. The elite men and elite women triathletes compete against each other on an equal playing field.

Amateur or age-group athletes race the same course as the pros, departing after the pro race has been completed.
