Life of Adam and Eve - Slavonic Life of Adam and Eve

Slavonic Life of Adam and Eve

The Slavonic Adam book was published by Jajic along with a Latin translation in 1893. This version agrees for the most part with the Greek Apocalypse of Moses. It has, moreover, a section, ยงยง 28-39, which, though not found in the Greek text, is found in the Latin Life of Adam and Eve. It includes also some unique material.

Famous quotes containing the words life, adam and/or eve:

People are less self-conscious in the intimacy of family life and during the anxiety of a great sorrow. The dazzling varnish of an extreme politeness is then less in evidence, and the true qualities of the heart regain their proper proportions.
    Stendhal [Marie Henri Beyle] (1783–1842)

When Adam found his rib was gone
He cursed and sighed and cried and swore
And looked with cold resentment on
The creature God has used it for.
    John Hollander (b. 1929)

When Adam delved and Eve span,
    Who was then the gentleman?
    John Ball (hanged 1381)
