Jerry Chapman sings and plays acoustic guitar. He founded Life in General in 1992 along with former member Shelly Sutton. The duo recorded the CD "Long Forgotten Toys" in 1994, before adding Jason LeVasseur to the lineup. Sutton eventually left the group, leaving the more recognizable duo of Chapman and LeVasseur. Chapman graduated from Furman University, and is a native of Winston-Salem, NC.
Jason LeVasseur sings and plays acoustic guitar, a stand-up drum kit, and congas. LeVasseur was born in the United States but spent most of his childhood in Mexico, Belgium, and Italy before returning to the States for college. LeVasseur's travels have influenced his playing style and his perspective on the world. LeVasseur graduated from Wake Forest University.He is a counselor at a camp in Maine called Timanous, a residential boy's camp. He is married and has two daughters.
