The club was started in the late sixties, a group of Wrexham solicitors began playing friendly fixtures, largely for social purposes. After a while they opted to move into Competitive Football and in 1975 joined the Welsh National League.

In the early eighties Lex XI appointed Ross Sankey as manager. Lex XI then bought from Wrexham FC what was then their training ground at Stansty Park. That forged a special link between Lex XI and Wrexham FC which continues closely to this day. During the eighties Lex XI were successful under manager Ross Sankey, winning an array of trophies which included, Welsh National League Championships, League Cups, North East Wales FA Cup and the Presidents Cup. After considerable success in the 80s, Lex XI were founder members of the Cymru Alliance in the 1990's and won the Alliance League Cup in 1991 and 1992. The 1991 success was matched by winning the North East Wales Challenge and President's Cups. More cup success followed in 1993 with the Welsh National League Premier Division Cup.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

America is the only nation in history which miraculously has gone directly from barbarism to degeneration without the usual interval of civilization.
    Georges Clemenceau (1841–1929)

The history of the genesis or the old mythology repeats itself in the experience of every child. He too is a demon or god thrown into a particular chaos, where he strives ever to lead things from disorder into order.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Bias, point of view, fury—are they ... so dangerous and must they be ironed out of history, the hills flattened and the contours leveled? The professors talk ... about passion and point of view in history as a Calvinist talks about sin in the bedroom.
    Catherine Drinker Bowen (1897–1973)
