Lester B. Pearson School Board

The Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB, French: Commission scolaire Lester-B.-Pearson) is the largest school board on the island of Montreal, one of the nine English school boards in the province of Quebec.

The LBPSB is responsible for English public schools in the West Island, Ile Perrot and "mainland" territories stretching west to the border of Ontario province. It is named after Lester B. Pearson, Canada's 14th Prime Minister.

Bob Mills is currently the Director General of the school board and the Chairman of the Council of Commissioners is Suanne Stein Day.

The Lester B. Pearson School Board is the only school board in Canada to have an official consultative group of students to its executives. The group, entitled the 'Central Students' Committee' (CSC for short) produces formal responses to the consultations proposed by the Council of Commissioners.

Famous quotes containing the words lester, pearson, school and/or board:

So much for Mrs. Hollis’ nine months of pain and 20 years of hope.
Alvah Bessie, Ranald MacDougall, and Lester Cole. Raoul Walsh. Nameless GI, Objective Burma, cutting dog tags off a dead GI (1945)

Misquotation is, in fact, the pride and privilege of the learned. A widely-read man never quotes accurately, for the rather obvious reason that he has read too widely.
    —Hesketh Pearson (1887–1964)

I’m tired of playing worn-out depressing ladies in frayed bathrobes. I’m going to get a new hairdo and look terrific and go back to school and even if nobody notices, I’m going to be the most self-fulfilled lady on the block.
    Joanne Woodward (b. 1930)

On board ship there are many sources of joy of which the land knows nothing. You may flirt and dance at sixty; and if you are awkward in the turn of a valse, you may put it down to the motion of the ship. You need wear no gloves, and may drink your soda-and-brandy without being ashamed of it.
    Anthony Trollope (1815–1882)
