Lesley Joseph - Life and Career

Life and Career

Joseph was born in Northampton. She is best known for starring in the BBC sitcom Birds of a Feather from 1989–1998, in which she played Dorien Green, the Jewish next-door neighbour of the main characters Sharon and Tracy. Dorien was a snob and maneater who tried to convey the impression of being happily married to Marcus, an accountant, but whose chief interest was actually chasing after much younger men. The character considered herself stylish and irresistibly attractive, and usually dressed in a sexually provocative style.

Famous quotes containing the words life and/or career:

It is life near the bone where it is sweetest. You are defended from being a trifler.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    Jessie Bernard (20th century)
