Lennon (musical) - Songs

Songs

The musical includes two previously unpublished songs by Lennon: "India, India" and "I Don't Want to Lose You". A December 2004 Playbill article mentioned that the rarely-heard Lennon song "Cookin' (in the Kitchen of Love)" (heard on the Ringo's Rotogravure album by Ringo Starr) would also be included, though the song was cut before the musical's Broadway opening.

Famous quotes containing the word songs:

Dylan is to me the perfect symbol of the anti-artist in our society. He is against everything—the last resort of someone who doesn’t really want to change the world.... Dylan’s songs accept the world as it is.
    Ewan MacColl (1915–1989)

    What wondrous love is this
That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul
—Unknown. “What Wondrous Love is this!” L. 3-5, Dupuy’s Hymns and Spiritual Songs (1811)

People fall out of windows, trees tumble down,
Summer is changed to winter, the young grow old
The air is full of children, statues, roofs
And snow. The theatre is spinning round,
Colliding with deaf-mute churches and optical trains.
The most massive sopranos are singing songs of scales.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)
