Leinster Club Senior Cup
The Leinster Senior Cup is a major rugby competition in Ireland.
The Leinster Senior Cup has been competed for by the strongest clubs in the province of Leinster since 1882. In recent years it has declined in importance due to the introduction of the All-Ireland League and the formation of a professional provincial team to compete in the Heineken Cup.
From 1940-1947 Old Belvedere completed the still unrivalled feat of winning the cup 7 times in a row narrowly losing their 8th consecutive final to Wanderers.

“In another year Ill have enough money saved. Then Im gonna go back to my hometown in Oregon and Im gonna build a house for my mother and myself. And join the country club and take up golf. And Ill meet the proper man with the proper position. And Ill make a proper wife who can run a proper home and raise proper children. And Ill be happy, because when youre proper, youre safe.”

“In poorer lands
No one touches the water of life.
It has no taste
And though it refreshes absolutely
It is a cup that must also pass
Until everybody
Gets some advantage....”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
