Awards
Chan’s awards include the Young Academician Award from the Association of Academic Physiatrists, two outstanding teacher awards from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and a Presidential Citation Award for excellence in research by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In 2007, he was one of the youngest individuals ever elected to the Institute of Medicine, where he currently serves as Chair of the Membership Committee.
He has also received three NIH Director’s Awards and one NIH Clinical Center Director's Award for his work in Bethesda.
