History
The Leigh Technology Academy occupies the former site of the Downs secondary school. In 1990 it became the Leigh City Technology College. The Leigh technology academy has been awarded Outstanding by ofsted in 2010.
The Leigh City Technology College was one of the first places in the UK to house a Cisco Regional Academy. The school has offered the Cisco Certified Network Associate course for over twelve years and has set landmarks for the CCNA course within the UK.
