Legends and The Quran - Killing All Mankind

Killing All Mankind

The Qur'an relates a Talmudic parable about the value of human life in its account of the murder of Abel by Cain.

Quran

On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. --

The Qur'an does not mention Abel and Cain by name, but refers to them as the two sons of Adam, " Recite to them the truth of the story of the two sons of Adam" --.

Mishnah

For this reason, man was created alone to teach that whoever destroys a single life is as though he had destroyed the entire world, and whoever saves a single life is as if he had saved the entire world. Mishnah Sanhedrin, 4:5
