Career

Doherty began his career as an apprentice at Arsenal, but he never made a league appearance for the Gunners. He signed for Charlton Athletic in 1998, but never made a league appearance. He then signed for Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made 3 league appearances. After leaving Brighton in 1999, Doherty played for a number of non-league clubs, including Chesham United, Crawley Town, Wealdstone, Ware, Bishop's Stortford, St Albans City and Grays Athletic. Doherty has also played for Fisher Athletic.
