Leduc County is a municipal district located immediately south of the City of Edmonton. It is 65 miles (105 km) east to west and 20 miles (32 km) north to south, and has a population of over 12,000 people. The municipal district is home to scenic prairie parkland and several lakes. In addition to its natural beauty, Leduc County also has a strong local economy, with major developments such as the Edmonton International Airport, the Nisku Industrial Business Park and the Genesee Power Plant all located within the municipality.
